Removable bonnets and hoods

Big question for me. Should I paint this parts separately from the body or in-place?

I think you should do them seperately to keep the bonnet from bonding to the rest of the car because the paint will act sort of like a glue.

I agree.

On the (few) models I have done with detachable bonnets/hoods, I have always painted them *off* the car.

As long as it's not a tight fit to get the thing back into place when painted/lacquered, the model benefits.

Regards
Mark

If parts need to be glued on to the body like wheel arches/vents/bumpers i will glue them on first if they are not removable.

Bonnets/doors or anything else that opens....paint it seperate.
