Re: whats the best clucth?

There is no "best clutch" - go with ACT - Centerforce - Exedy

I had a Clutchmasters stage 1 in my 94 GSR. I currently have an Exedy racing clutch in my rex. I LOVED the clutchmasters stage 1. Clutch masters uses high leverage pressure plate springs. This results in nice easy pedal feel w/ awesome holding power. My vote is for Clutchmasters. just my

ive had my clutchmasters for almost a year and a half. i had it on my Dohc zc, and now its on the stock si motor of my 2nd si.

on the a6, it chirps 3rd...on the zc, both tires would scream in 3rd...

i know clutchmasters used to have some quality issues, but this clutch has been very good to me.

for me...its between clutchmasters and ACT.

but whatever you get...make sure you break the clutch in properly for 500-700 miles. you'll be glad you did.

Re: whats the best clucth?

I personally would get an ACT clutch for a 92-95 civic transmission. It bolts into ur 89-91 transmission and it's about 2 inches wider....it grabs EXCEPTIONALLY well even if u just but a stock clutch from a 5th gen civic....

Sounds like you need to replace the motor (and obviously dump the HF tranny along with it) to make up for the nice ass clutch you have

Lightbulb Great, whats this my 3rd post?

Don't listen to Fishcat37, that guy is a tool. J/K he knows pretty much everything, but still not as much as me. I'd say RPS, they use use ribbed pressure plate fingers. Giving a great feel, plus they have a carbon/carbon version that lasts virtually forever. And they also happen to be the first people to make a high performance clutch for honda's that actually held power from turbos. www.turboclutch.com

well since you gotta go and talk hybrid....

i used a 91 CRX Si flywheel if i remember right. NC_REX (holy shyt! anybody remember that name? gta, you cheater!) was famous for his mini 4th gen junkyard. becasue of his insane (worse than i) nature to take home any part he could find at the real junkyard he was able to place a flywheel from crx, 4th, 5th, and 6th gen civic side by side and compare. i do believe it was the 91 crx si that had the most surface area. i will do research and see if i can find the numbers he sent me to back that up.

with that said and to follow bambam89lx, i used a 96-00 clutch on the crx flywheel installed into my 89 si tranny which is mated to a y8 engine that is sending the power which is turning my axles causing the 16" rims to roll down the street

.....okay, i know you could have done without that last part. but in the spirit of dr. seuss. be glad i didn't make it all rhyme
