Does Death Wobble only happen On Lifted Jeeps?
Does Death wobble only happen on lifted jeeps or is it common on stock jeeps too? How can I test for this problem when I am searching for a used jeep? Any driving conditions that make it happen or favor it? Can a mechanic check for it? Thanks for your help!!!!!

Re: Does Death Wobble only happen On Lifted Jeeps?
Yes, it can happen on stock jeeps. You can test drive the vehicle and take it out on a road or highway where you can reach highway speeds.
Poor tire condition as well as looseness in one or more steering joints can contribute. Conditions sometimes matter too. There are just WAY too many combinations to list here. You can search the forums and find out details. My '88 had a small bit of DW around 55mph. Mine turned out to be a bad steering damper. |
