Accord Project (4th gen) W/ Swap....
I was thinking of getting myself a project Accord to work on and was hoping for some input from all you guys.
I want to get a '90 to '96 Accord (which year would be best?) and swap in the most powerful engine I can to it. My questions are, what year would be best as far as reliability/cost goes? Also, what is the largest Direct swap (ie. bolt right in) engine I could put in it? I was assuming a Prelude engine would do the trick but it HAS to be a direct fit. Also, what all would I need from that doner car other than just the engine/tranny? I want as much from the doner as possible (direct fit if possible) since the Accord is going to be a junkyard special when I start out on it. And finally, how much would I be looking at in terms of the doner parts? Good engine and all parts needed to make it work in an Accord? Thank you all for you input. I appreciate the vast amount of info you all possess. Ps. I was also thinking if possible to get a fairly new engine from somewhere but don't know if you can still get new (prelude?) engines that are that old. |

It depends on how much money you want to spend on it...
