Arrow More Troubles

Well gettin ready to go back to school from lunch i turned on my car and there was a loud "screeching" noise. I had the same noise about 2 months ago when my alternator was replaced and all that i had to do was tighten a bolt and it was fine. Well i went to go tighten it and it would tighten and then feel loose again, as if the bolt were stripped. Well turns out the bolt broke in half and there is half of my bolt stuck in my bracket where the alternator needs to be tightened down at. Got any ideas on what we should do...or even any temp. fixes? Oh yah more great news...my radiator's fucked and i'll be needing a new one soon, i can't wait. I did get my Reverse Indiglo Gauges in the mail today though...but no car to drive right now

Re: More Troubles

The bolt is actually stuck in the alternator. You will need to remove the alternator & drill out the bolt, possibly tapping or even get a longer bolt/nut & use that.

Is the belt bad? if so replace it.

Well right now my car is over at a guy's house and he is working on it and seeing what he can do about it. The belt shouldnt be bad it was just replaced a lil while ago, i think what was making the noise was the fact that the pulley wasn't tight so the belt wasn't on it correctly at the time.

Re: More Troubles

Yep, a loose or over tight belt can make a noise & cause premature wear. Hopefully its not your water pump!
