Hey, go cheap and just as efficient... I haven't done this yet b'cuz I haven't made the trip to the yard yet, but get an intake tube from teh Dodge Caravan... From what I heard it flexes and fits the Neon. You can attach it, flex it down where the battery is, and whalah! You've a cold air intake. All them fancy metalic ones, they are for show. The metal conducts heat much better than plastic... Leaving your air to warm up before goin' in. Also, you can wrap it with heat resistant protectant.

Sorry but you are wrong. AEM an Iceman do not conduct heat. The Iceman isn't even made out of metal and AEM intakes have a heat resistant coat. That's why they are called COLD AIR INTAKES!!!

i just used the factory flex tube off my daytona
i just basicly bypassed the airbox so the air didnt have to go through all the xtra crap. but it definatly made a big difference i felt the diference instantly. im not sure if itll fit the neon or not but the tube off my 93 daytona 3.0 v6 is about 2 ft long about 3 in around

*sigh* Okay B16... You're in the wrong forum again. We save ignorant comments like that for the civic forum. Oh yeah! You own a civic! Gee, wheres the irony in that?

Did I even mention the words ICEMAN or AEM in my post? Lets review...

Okay, so I was right. I did not mention AEM or ICEMAN in my post. Would you like to see my referances? Go to www.ebay.com and search 'Dodge Neon'. As you browse you will see some cheap intakes. Some cold air, some ram, nevertheless you were being ignorant to the fact. I'm not attacking you, I will leave that to anyone that notices you drive a civic, I'm simply informing you on what was really there... In my post that is. I do appreciate you trying to inform me on the specifications of products, which I was aware of. I was trying to save a fellow neon enthusiast $100+ on getting something that does the trick. Feel me? Good. Thank you for taking interest in a higher breed of automobiles... The neon.

Okay mr. Civic basher. For one I'm in here because I like all cars unlike you. I haven't once knocked on a neon so what's your problem? The reason I said that was because he is obviously not as cheap as you when it comes to his car because he asked about the AEM and Iceman intake not that cheap ass EBAY shit you buy. Oh and if you want to see what's up I can meet you half way and I guarantee you'll have your ass handed to you. You keep buying your ebay crap and going the cheap, easy way you low budget wannabe.

Heh... The assumptions again. *sigh* Why are we so hateful today B16? Or is that everyday?

I'm not a racer. If I was a racer than I would do like DOHcNEON and mock his engine... I think we come to an agreement on that. But no, I would like an intake for a lil bit of a purr when the pedal is down.

Alright... More clarifying...
I'ma low budget wanabe? Does that mean that I want to be on a low budget? Heh, aren't we all? Dang, I think I am pretty well off for being a first year college student. My only income being subsistance pay from Army ROTC scholarship. ($250/mo. untaxed)
*subject cleared*

And you asked me a pretty simple question... What is my problem? Well, I honestly do not have a problem. I do not like how you are coming off on me, but that is about it. Your apparent education does not extend much beyond a block, cylnder head, and an intake manifold. So I'm extremely glad you are the 'green peace' of autos, seeing how you love, cherish, and treat each car like your own... Regardless of make, model, or color. That really is tear jerking...

...But I have to go for now. The subject is squashed.

Matt

So you will eventually be a comissioned officer in the Army huh? Well I pray for all the enlisted men/women that will eventually serve under you. I hope you treat your enlisted better than you treat the members on this forum. I beg you not to call them ignorant in so many words as you have this enlisted member. Goodluck.........SIR!!!

Well when you're ignorant, you're ignorant. Right? I handle situations as they come to me soldier. The subject is squashed... But not with a little bit more respect for you seeing you also feel the rush of serving your country. No need for calling me sir guru.

cold air intakes

hey guys i dont mean to interrupt your little discusion, but to answer the original question; i have actually done some homework on this one and the AEM is better but it is only for manual transmission. This sucks for me because i have an automatic. I figured it would work for automatic but i called them and found out that it was only for manual.

Re: cold air intake

i have the iceman intake on my 2000 and love it. as discussed on neons.org many a time, aem and iceman are so similar in gains that you wont notice. go with which ever you think looks better. i went with the iceman because i like the material they use, it looks more stock-like. also, the iceman is supposedly louder. personally i wouldnt bother with an ebay intake, you get what you pay for.
