Diablo purchase

I would like advice on what year Diablo to purchase between 1991 to 1997. 2wd, 4wd or Roadster. What year did they add power steering and or any significant improvements ? Also what to look for as far as tell tale signs for future repair problems. I have owned other exotics, mainly Ferrari & Porsche which have been fairly problem free. Any advise & suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

Hi Victor, welcome to AF!
The very knowledgable Mark from lambocars.com should be able to help you with that.

I have an off-topic question for you, what nationality are you? I am asking this because of your name : Victor. I'm guessing Eastern Europe?

I used to live close to you, in Tallahasse, and I've been to Boca Raton couple of times for tennis tournaments. Very nice city.

I would buy a new one (if monies was not an issue) If monies IS an issue, you have no business owning a Diablo, for it can get VERY expensive. If you STILL want a used diablo, make sure you have a dealer CHECK IT OUT for you before you buy it or put monies down on it.

I've had a 98 SV that was a true lemon. I bought it NEW, and was able after a long battle to have them give me a new car. Yet, I feel sorry for whoever ended up eventually buying that car (it went back to the distributor). My 99 Diablo Roadster, on the other hand, was a perfect car (I put over 12k miles on it in less than 8 months... / drove it every day).

If you HAVE TO buy a used one, I would check with the folks over at teamlamborghini.com (http://www.teamlamborghini.com) / talk to Dante. Get the computer printout from the car / have the dealer explain to you and go over it with you carefully. (shows you the amount of time that the car was driven, the temperature, the RPMs, any recorded problems, etc, etc.). If the seller is unable or unwilling to provide this for you (free of charge of course), drop it and get another car. This info comes from the onboard computer behind the passenger's seat... (make sure it is the ORIGINAL one also...)

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Luigi

What part of Canada are you from? I'm still stuck up here. There is like 6 or 7 Lamborghini owners on here now, that's amazing!

Smile New roadster owner !!

Hi, just thought you may like to know that I traded mr Diablo 2WD for a VT roadster today...

I have had my 2wd for 2 years and clocked up over 20K KMS I have had loads of experience from cracked bumpers to a full engine rebuild.

If anyone would like to know anything about running costs or my experienes with these cars then I would only be to pleased to help...

I also have a F 355 Spider that we race against the Diablo (not the new Roadster yet) and loads of videos and tons of pics...

Let me know if any one wants any snaps of a particular part of these wonderful cars and I will snap then with my digital camera...
