How much are Eibach sportlines?
Im looking for a 2.0 drop ( meaning..no fender gaps.) for my ride. How is the ride quality? Are they worth it? Thanks! |

Re: Eibach Sportlines for a 95 Accord
The Eibach line of products are very popular.
They are known as one of the best. Many manufactor use them on their sport models such as the sport Linclon LS concept car. They use the Eibach Prokit if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure there are others out there, but I can't remember. Also, GroundControl coilovers use the Eibach line of springs for their system. Hearing this and other stories, you can't go wrong with Eibach ![]() I hear the ride is soft and comfortable, yet stiff enough for some heavy cornering. The sportlines do a good job of lowering the car. From my understanding, it will NOT be a 2 inch drop, but something less. I have a friend who experiences his rear being lower than his front. He has a 93 Accord Coupe. I also have another friend with a 6th gen Coupe and doesn't seem to be experiencing any problems. I wouldn't go for the Prokit because it hardly lowers your car. It's somewhere in the ball park of 1.5 inches. This is coming from a close friend who has a silver integra. I didn't know it was lowered until he told me.

Yup. Your right.. thats my car. =)
Im having bad experience with Progress lowering springs right now. I just changed my shocks and things seems still bumpy. Not to mention, I tried looking how the springs look when theyre leveled on the ground and there u go....the coils are so close that theyre pressing each other. Manila is notorious for bad roads..and everytime i drive...i sometimes here "ting ting" more like the sound of metal to metal hiting. Im technically assuming its the springs since my springs now has soooo much coils that theyre pressed at each other when theyre lowered. =) Hope you can help me. =) Im looking for springs that doesnt give a fender gap in 18in 225/40s not to mention something that rides like stock and handles well. Im not looking for something low...just no fender gaps. I wanna make sure you can still fit a finger between the gap and tires. =) thanks guys! hope you can help me! Hopefully Ill be in California next week to spend Christmas with my relatives and i plan to catch the Showoff classic at Pomona on the 29th.

I've also heard good things about progress springs. I'm surprised you're not happy with them.
The Eibach springs might help out. Ask other people who actually have them. I have Sprint springs and I'm happy with them. They are extremely soft which is not too great for racing, but perfect for daily driving. What sort of struts do you have?!?!? You might be looking towards the wrong ones. Try to find some with adjustablity to them. I have a set of Bec tech struts and they have been shorten in order to give proper suspension travel to absorb the bump of the road. That along with my Sprint springs makes a perfect ride quality. http://www.geocities.com/natcc99_99/bectech.html I know what you are talking about with the noise in the rear. I had that also for my car when I first got my suspension installed. I found out the reason was due to my rubber bushing that sits on top of the springs. That bushing was bad and needed to replaced. It's easy to replace, I did it myself. Just take apart your entire rear suspension and put the new bushing on. Then put the whole assembly back together and you're all set. Some people have put a rubber or plastic tube around the coils of the springs. That seem to help out. good luck

Actually...i have no complains with Progress ( expect for the little noise they kinda make) but after riding a Civic on Eibachs...i was like..." what the?!! what springs are you using man?" And the friend of mine here was just using those Prokits. The whole experience kinda enlighten me on Eibachs. hehe!
![]() Where can I find bectech struts? Does this come with springs? How much are they? Its really tough rolling on 18s somehow. I know it looks good one way or the other but the the noise and the vibration is different. oh well. ![]() About the hoses and plastic that wraps around the ends of the springs...well...actually I tried placing 2 in my rear suspension and it made some noises. Im planning to take those hoses out and go back to stock. Im planning on upgrading the rubber that the springs hit everytime I hit speedbumps. hehe! Oh well.. How much are those sportlines again? Hows the ride JDM accord? Are they worth it? |

Does all 5th gen rear springs has this part with all the coils near each other?? Does all aftermarket springs 4 the 5th gen look like that?
Ive notice the picture of the bectechs in the other thread..that the rear springs there was the same with my progress. Does those close coils matter? I mean it seems they hit each other on bumpy roads. ![]() thanks! |

Quote:
What you are talking are the "dead coils"...they are made to come together like that. That is how the springs lower your car. Thus, only a few coils actually support your car. The reason why you have dead coils and not just shorter springs is for safty reasons. Lowering springs when not compressed are around the same length as regular stock springs. Like I said before, to lower the car, they have a different spring ratio and dead coils. If the springs were shorter or also known as cut springs...then they become upsafe because when the car goes into a turn and one end of the car becomes completely compressed while the other becomes decompressed....there is a possiblity that the spring could pop out of place. (this condition happens to coilover sleeves with their shorten springs) Having the springs full length with deadcoils allows the springs to be always compressed and held into place at all driving conditions. hope that helps

Thanks dude!
I was thinking...Do you think..buying a pair of those caps with rubbers busings for the shocks is worth it? Im talking about the upper part of the shocks were the upper part of the springs rest with the rubber. Im thinking that the rubber is worn out. Does it happen a lot? Or m I the only one doing this? hehe! Geesh man! ive got so many things to fix up for my ride... i hit a pothole once with my 18in rims at an angle then suddenly at 60mph the steering or chassis vibrates at throttle but when its neutral the vibration goes away. Even if im in 70mph once its neutral theres no vibration. I had tons of balancing from different shops and its all the same. tsk! Oh well thanks guys! |

yeah....like i said.
i had the same noise problem that you have. i replaced the rubber bushing that goes between the top of the springs and the top of the strut holder. i'm sure you know what i'm talking about ![]() just replace that and you should be ok. at least it worked for me. i forgot how much it was from the Honda dealership...but I know for sure it's less than 20 bucks each. good luck |

inspire:
i got the sportlines for $185 US dollars at a local shop. I had the clanking noise in the rear springs too from the dead coils. i just wrapped the first couple of coils with those plastic wire wrap and it fixed the problem. Rides quietly now. You probably know since u have the progress sport springs that its a bitch to drive especially with a body kit on. but the ride quality is good for a 2 inch drop(although i heard progress springs ride better than eibach ?). |

Thank God!
I fixed the noise!! And not it wasnt the suspesnsion...no it wasnt the springs either. My Progress rides good..now i realize eibachs are stiffer. The good thing with progress is it doesnt really bottom end like other springs. The ride is kinda "jello" on bad roads but its all good. not to stiff. And guess what my problem was.... its my rear brake calipers! tsk! I had them painted b4..and the mechanic found out they were loose. No wonder..i hear this "metal to metal" kind of noise everytime i hit a speedbump or just passin by those bad roads. Too bad i had to blame the springs. hehe! anyway..thanks for your answers guys! =) Why didnt you guys get Progress..isnt it cheaper?! God bless!! |
