Hello, I am new to this forum but am looking for some help. I own a 00 Silverado with 58,000 miles on it. Here recently I have noted it starting to sputter when I give it gas at take off and when I am driving. I canged the fuel filter but that has not helped. I dont know if this question has come up here before or if it has already been answered but any help would be great. It is sort of a jerking movement when I give it gas. Timing off, new wires/plugs? If anyone else has experienced this please let me know.
Thanks Matt |

This happened to me. Its the fuel pressure regulator. Well it was a combo of that and a clogged fuel filter in my truck. It fixed it.

Hey Matt, I had a similar problem with my truck. I had a new fuel pump and filter installed, which they assured me should fix the problem. It turns out that I also had some cylinder damage though (see my posting from earlier today), so I can't confirm that the fuel pump/filter repair has worked yet. It wouldn't hurt to check your spark plugs as well. Not sure if that helps at all, but just thought I should pass that on.

Could also need to just clean up your fuel injectors with some fuel injector cleaner available at your local automotive store. That or it could be a timing problem
which would be bad. |

Just fixed a somewhat similar problem on my buddy's truck. The truck would sputter if you gave it gas appropiately. If you floored it there wouldn't be a sputter. I noticed his serpentine belt was quite worn so we got a new one and it solved the problem.

Found Problem!
Just thought I would let yall know in case this happens to any of you. The ignition coil had gone out. I replaced that and it hasnt missed a beat since. Originally I flushed my injectors and changed the fuel filter. Still was doing it. The replaced coil fixed it. Hope this might help someone one day.

Re: 00 sputtering when give gas
My truck does the same thing. Everything mentioned has been replaced and still does it. I bought the truck at the dealership I worked at and the mechanics say its normal. BS - I say...but what can you do? I use an Octane boost everytime I fill up and it seems to help. Good luck!
