91 s10 blazer wont start

i have a 91 s10 blazer just bought it from alpine motors in wyoming.. ran good when the dealer drove it (of course) . well it ran good for a couple days after i bought it and within the first week i drove, it died in the middle of the street. so i pushed it off the road and the ignition switch stuck in the on position. about that time the ignition coil started smoking and melting so i had to cut the battery cable to shut it down. I have replaced the coil and the battery cable.. still wont start. all of the fuses are good. the fusable links seem fine and the relays seem fine. the oil pressure gauge goes up and down for some reason. is there some sort of secret switch or shut down default when this occurs. there is no spark and the fuel pump is not on.
if you cant help me mechanically then any legal help is appreciated.runaround (no warranty)

i dont even know the function of the ignition module. where is it located?
does it run the fuel also? could it have fried when the coil did and not blown a fuse? i honestly dont know a whole lot about 80-95 it seems that was a testing period for electronics or something. your help is appreciated.

The ignition module is inside the distributor...it replaces the points.
The State of Tennessee has a 3 day take it back rule, check with your state.

Another thing to check, if applicable. Not sure if that year had a fuel pump shut off switch or not. It's usually located in the back somewhere behind a panel. Or the fuel pump relay, I believe is mounted on the firewall passenger side. Or if ignition key is stuck, could very well be faulty ignition lock cylinder. Usually not too expensive and do-able for the do it yourselfer.

Hope this helps.
