11 second GT
Whats up, glad to be with you. It's not very often I come across anyone who can really discuss Mustangs, and not try to tell me something off the wall. Like my nitrous bottle is going to explode in a ball of flames if I get in a wreck, or my Civic is faster. Thanks Fast and Furious, now every 16 year old with a wing that's just plain retarted looking and a muffler that sounds a weed eater lines his Honda up with me at a red light and wants to race. Do they really think a basically stock import will touch a heavily modified Mustang. O well, think I'll keep my hoss. I'll post some photo's and info about my ride soon, 5o.
306ci, Scat crank, Crowler rods, JE pistons(11.5:1),DSS main support, windage tray, Wolverine cam 1187(289/299 510/534), O-ringed stage II Canfield heads, Scorpion 1.6 rocker arms, GT-40 intake w/stageII porting on lower(all 8 runners flow within 10 cfm), BBK 65mm throtle body, Pro-M 75mm mass air meter, Mac 1 5/8" long tube headders, MAC 2 1/2" off-road h-pipe, 2 1/2" Borla mufflers, Ford Motorsport alum. radiator, MSD 6al ignition, MSD adjustable timing control, BBK 190lph intank pump, NOS inline pump, Ford Motorsport 24lb injectors, Ford Motorsport Zt5 trans, Ford Motorsport aluminum driveshaft, 3:73 ring&pinion, Auburn differential, Moser axels, c-clip eilnimators, Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, BBK adjustable quardnant, Hurst shifter, Kenny Brown subframe connectors, Megabite jr. lower control arms, Steeda drag sway bar, Ebiach drag springs, Lakewood 50/50 drag shocks, Lakewood 90/10 struts, Nitto drag radials, Autometer fuel pressure, nitrous pressure, water temp, oil pressure and monster tach w/shift light. NOS stage II 150hp w/ remote bottle valve, heater and purge. I think that's it off the top of my head, all machine and flowbench port by Panhandle Performance of Panama City Fla. The main part I need now is a chip, the factory brain just isn't doing all this stuff justice. When funds allow a trip back to Panhandle for a few hours on the dyno to fine tune should make a huge difference, Adam and Mark want to burn me a custon 2stage chip to install while they have it on the dyno, but damn, custom chips and time on the dyno is expensive, no I mean really expensive. But you get what you pay for, I guess overtime hasn't hurt me yet, but dammit man. I would like some time to drive it. O well, I say if it makes you happy DO IT. More mods in the works are an electric fan, water pump, trunk mount battery kit, a 6 or 10 point cage, and somewhere down the line an A4 block w/347 kit, either a c4 or a built AOD, and either a Procharger or more N20. Any sudgestions will be greatly appreciated, especially about the cage and computer. 5o Last edited by parrish5o; 12-03-2003 at 01:56 PM. Reason: more info. |

Re: 11 second GT
You might be surprised I own 2003 cobra I walked a GT he never got to my door and I didn't have to go buy any aftermarket equipment to have the power I like which is nice. Buy the time you buy all that aftermarket stuff you could of paid for a Cobra
but anyway don't count out those rice burners I watched a old VW Rabbit walk and kept pulling away from a cobra and the new Hotride Mag that fast Subaru did better times than the cobra. Don't forget that little dodge colt turbo thats suppost to hit 60 in the low 3's. Well thats my though take it the way you want. DO it legal take it to the strip not the street and then you can know. |

Re: 11 second GT
Yea, you're right the 03 cobra is bad, my buddy has one. Unless I use the bottle it is a very close race, and yes there are some fast imports. It's just the ones that think they are that get on my nerves.
I used to have a TSI Conquest that would run with my best friends new 5.0. That little Dodge Colt, well I remember a night at the track when this ulgy little station with a baby seat in the back showed up and ran low 8sec times through the 1/8th. Everybody there left knowing what a Dodge Colt was that night. |

CRS-can't remember s...
Due to a developing loss of short term memory I forgot one little bit of info, 12.50 1/4 mile on the motor and 11.40s on the gas. Love that little blue bottle of fun! $32.50 to refill a bottle full of smiles, damn I love America.

Re: 11 second GT
Joshta ,It is on Video on another forum I swear My fancey Alienware laptop crashed big time so I lost all my forums dam it but its on a ford or mustange forum like this I just lost everything but it was a bad site. That little VW you could tell it was stripped to the bone you could see the metal post inside just remmeber there is a lot to weight vs H.P and reaction time in the trap the Vw didn't spin a tire and of course the Cobra did. but it kept pulling away on down the track. It didn't say what kind of motor it had in it.

I didn't mean to sound like a jerk, but you know how rare that would be. I guess it's still possible though. It was an 03' right?

Re: 11 second GT
Thats what the thread said. I'm showing my age but one Sunday at the local Sav.,Ga. strip I watched a stripped one of those old VW rear engine Beetle take every car and back then they were all big blocks you know Chevelles Chargers, etc because he set a steady time every time and kept repeating that time and if you have a car and can do that you wiould be hard to beat no matter what your driviing.Plus that beetle never smoked a tire instant tracking and if I remmeber a Chevelle finlly just nose him out. As stated above by the Hotrod MAG stats the Subaru WXR or WRX how ever that goes that blue one which is suppost to have 300H.P out run the 2003 Cobra on a 1/4 mile run but if you get the mag. look at the gearing thats what did it and of coures who ever run it could of had better reaction time.I allmost looked at one but and with kids four doors would be nice you can't have the fun you can with that good old v8 tork and have thats backend dance around I love it being from the big block age this is as close to the old mopar 440s that I could afford which is nice isn't it the Cobra for 35grand and the factory says 390h.p. but all the stock Cobras have been Dynoing over 400 to 425 h.p. so I think ford has under stated the HP and the only place your going to find that stock power is in vehilces starting what do Vetts run 50 to 55 grand and the those german cars but if I had paid that much for a car I would be scare to have fun with it and Mod it. If there is misspelled word Its 7:00 in the morning typing with one eye open.
