It could be the result of many reasons. Try checking the following:
1. If the steering wheel shakes excessivley along with the whole car, have the front(all 4 wouldn't hurt) tires checked for balance and/or excessive tire wear. 2. Struts, front and rear 3. Steering components for excessive wear/play(tie rods, control arms, etc.) 4. Wheel alignment. There may be some other possibilities as well. My niece had a Lynx that started shaking at high speeds, and eventually at low speed..turned out to be a broken motor mount. Bad clutch on A/C, etc........But the above mentioned are pretty quick and easy things to eliminate, and may lead to the cause of the shaking/vibration. |
