Help Buying 325is

I'm looking for a used car and i found a 1995 325 is for $8000 and it has 153,000 miles. Im just wondering if i should go ahead and buy this knowing that i will need a reliable car that will eventually be modified. is there anything important that i should know about this car before buying it. i.e. things that break around 150k miles?
any help would be greatly apreciated.

M20 engine is a little different

It has a belt drive for the CAM and that puts more M20 engines in the scrap yard than need be.

Every 50k or every three years.

Here is a e30 specific site, BEN, BMW E30 Network.
