Thumbs down rearerend problem

well i have a 1992 isuzu rodeo 3.1l v6 4x4 and i took off slowly and it made a clunk noise from rear i put it up on jack stands and put it in all the gears and its making a shattering noise from the rearerend and i was woundering gear ratios i know its somewhere from 2.20 to 2.40 does and one know theres no tag
