i just bought a 97 GST. It has a stage three clutch in it and when you let out the clutch fairly fast from 1st-2nd and sometimes to third it makes a blunt jerk kinda. It almost feels like the engine is loose. Also i noticed there is a bit of oil leaking from right below the AEM cams. Anyway about the clutch do you think its just because its a stage three clutch and it engages fast or is there a transmission problem? It only does it when Im accelarating fast...

umm who makes that "stage 3" clutch?
how much power is this thing putting down, to need such a clutch? anywho, sounds like your need engine mounts since it feel like its slamming into the firewall everytime u shift. I wont recommend such a harsh clutch in a 97 btw, then again, you make get lucky |

i can't remeber off the top of my head what kind it is. Its not a well name brand tho i know that's for sure. I also have injen intake, HKS camshaft, AEM cams, greddy type s BOV, tanabe racing medalion exhaust, greddy i/c piping. I don't know how much horsepower is has because i've never got it dynoed. I also don't know how much boost im running. Keep in mind i just got the car three days ago and i'm still learning about DSM stuff. thanx for your help tho.

If its called a "stage" whatever, it is almsot certainly a clutchmasters, but could also be an RPS, but thats somwhat unlikely. ITs not uncommon for a stocng clutch to acentuate bad motor mounts. It many be time to get some eurethane mounts, like prothanes, the nixt time there is an oppurtunity, such as when the tranny is out of the car for other reasons. Or you can install the mounts anytime if you dont mind a full saturdays worth of work including the time for the machine shop to pres out the inserts on the side mounts. As for power, with proper tuning your setup could be good for 250 whp. Even without fuel tuning my car on the stock turbo was at 250 whp. Welcome to the group
