Patching a radiator leak

I've got a small crack in my radiator in my 2002 Mitsubishi Galant eS. What's the best fix?

where is the crack specifically? metal part or the plastic part

you can try a band-aid like jb weld, but they all eventually fail because the system is pressurized

but better to just get the whole part replaced

most carry a lifetime warranty

It's on top. I'm assuming that's plastic. Have you ever tried JB weld on plastic?

There are a number of epoxy type products that will work for a very temporary seal.
But the only way to actually fix it is to replace it.

I came across this product at Home Depot called PC Fahrenheit. It's waterproof and good up to 500 degrees. It's working well so far.

Right, those products tend to work until either you're running late for a job interview or flight, you're in the middle of the woods and there is no traffic or cel-phone service, or there is a torrential downpour of rain outside.

I've tried it all. Nothing lasts. I did find an article about plastic welding. I could buy 3 radiators for the cost of a welder. Interesting reading, though.

I have the one with the electric air motor and used it to repair the side mirror on my wife's 2010 Lincoln MKZ after she got a bit too close to the car next to her. It's since survived a few highway trips, bumpy roads, and a couple of smacks from the kids.

Now why didn't I think of that. Harbor Freight has become one of my favorite stomping grounds. I'd say a good portion of my tool collection was purchased there. Thanks for reminding me.
