Hi all.. im new to this forum and id just like to say wassup to everyone with a g20 out there.. lol *mad props to us* After watching fast and the furious, i decided to get a wet NOS system in my 2000 g20t.. do you guys think its a wise decision? well i hear nos is bad for you're car in general but i hear dry nos kits are the only ones that mess up yer engine.. :smoker2: Basically im fed up with my snail-like automatic g20, lol eww i know my mom wouldn't let me get stick.. but i do have a custom intake made out of civic piping and i call him mr. stubs *heh* gives me a good 3 - 4 horses... So i was thinking that nos could get me 40+ hp off the bat.. whatcu think guys???

I think you can only use nos one time per tank. Remember in the movie how they pushed the nos button, and then they pushed another nos button which probably activated a different tank. So once you use nos one time, I think you have to get a new tank. Maybe Im wrong but thats what im thinking. And those tanks are probably expensive. To get a nos system in your car, you will need anywhere from $500-2000+. Dont quote me on this. Peace out

what the hell do i know, but....
I don't think you can only use each tank once, as long as there is still enough pressure in the tank to push out the nos. But, once you use unough that there is not much left in the tank, the pressure in the tank drops, and no or little NOS comes out. just like in road warrior, The Humongus (buff guy with, metal mask) he opened the valve when needed. |

hey well lets clear a few things up...
NOS does have some dangers, but it is relatively safe if your engine is equipped to handle it. check out www.nosinfo.com or was it .org? hmm.. anyway.. the basic NOS tank (not the large capacity ones) can fire a NOS stream for 7-10 shots, although as someone mentioned once the tank is at a low capacity it will not be as effective. |

yah, nos is an option I am seriously considering for my AT too. I don't need boost all the time, just once in a while when I have to pass a truck in a 2 line highway. from what I hear, you can shoot about 7-8 shots of 15sec duration (1/4 mile) on a standard 20lb bottle. but for street use, you only need about a 3-4sec boost, so that'll give you at least 25-30shots per bottle.
I guess we would be looking at getting a SE-R 2.0L kit. anyone have any suggestions? thanx |

How much would it cost to install that into our cars? How much is it per normal size bottle of nos?

well i talked to my friend and NOS runs about 500 - 600 for the complete kit and our SR20DE engine (thank god) is good enough for a 55 - 75psi of NOS which is equivilant to 55 - 75 hp off the bat. The thing i was worring about is that they don't have the kits for our car rite now
but good news is that at least they have em for the older g20'z 97&below.. arrggg.. boo hoo.. and yah a 10lb bottle of NOS can last around 3 min. of pushing the button down which is good for 3 some weeks, unless you're really trigger happy. muhahah but yah! im creaming in my pants just thinking my baby can go 200+ hp whoo weee! damn where am i gonna come up with 600+ dollars.. maybe ill resort to prostitution??? heh |

ok, let me share my knowledge on this subject...from what I've experience, nitrous is safe only if you do it right. When I say "right" I mean making your motor almost "bulletproof" to detonation depending on the amount of HP boost our using. Detonation is the number one killer to most motors. I used a 50hp shot nitrous kit from Nitrous Express on my old sentra. My old sentra only had the GA16DE motor in it. To prepare my motor to run with nitrous, I had to change my spark plugs and make those 1 degree colder than before, retard my timing by 1 degree and run 93 octane fuel all the time and that was it. I had no problems whatsoever with my nitrous or motor. I was told that I was able to run a 100hp shot to my motor If I wanted to but only a few times at the track only. To run anything more than a 50 shot "all the time" will take more precautions into consideration and will take more money. For instance, pistons, rods, rings, fuel pressure riser, fuel pump, etc. Nissan's have one of the strongest stock bottom-end's made, so they're hungry for power. Good luck. :flash:
p.s. a 10lb. bottle with a 50 shot will last about 20 passes down the 1/4 mile... a 10 lb. bottle with a 75 shot will last about 15 passes down the 1/4 mile... a 10lb. bottle with a 100 shot will last about 10 passes down the 1/4 mile...etc. etc. p.s.s. the reason why their was 2 bottles in some of the cars in the movie was because they were running a dual stage nitrous system...one bottle for one hp shot and the other bottle for a different hp shot.

oh one more thing...most companies out there have a universal kit which only require you to tap into the intake before the throttle body and those kits can cost anywhere from 5-6 bills. They should include a 10lb. bottle, mounts, relays, steel braided hoses, 2 solenoids (fuel and nitrous), a micro switch that mounts to the throttle body that will only let you spray at WOT, an arming switch, the nozzle and a jet pack that'll let you change your hp shot to whatever you desire.
p.s. mine was a wet system, meaning I also had to tap into the fuel line to couple it with the nitrous right before it went through the nozzle(jet). Therefore wet is safer. p.s.s. it cost me about $25-$30 to refill the bottle also :licker:

I am a newbie to nitrous systems. I have a 2003 Nissan Spec V and am thinking of getting a wet nitrous kit. I was wondering where you go to refill your bottle once it is empty?
