9005 @#!*&

Okay, I thought that for a 91 4 door civic, the lowbeam headlight bulb would be a 9005. I put in some 9006's a while back because I got the wrong ones, but those worked and they fit. But they would burn out really fast due to the wrong wiring I'm guessing. But my question is...is 9005 the right bulb? If so, I have some 9005's, but on the inside of the connecter, there were two plastic columns on the side it, and my car had one, so I had to cut out the two plastic things, just to make it fit, and on top of that, when I put it in the housing, I cant close the lock on it, so it keeps falling out. On top of that, I think the bulb is bad anyways, becuase sometimes I have to flick it to get it to come on. I'm tired of this stupid headlight problem, this is the 5th set of light I've been through, its getting really annoying, and a huge waste of my money.

9006=low beam, 9005=high beam

it is the opposite of what you think they would be, so you were right the first time by puttin the 9006 into the lowbeam

That helps a lot actually, thank you, I put a bid on some from ebay, and I got a killer deal on them, but I was gonna put them in backwards...lol. So this saved me another set of bulbs and a LOT of frustration. Thanks for once again enabling me to be lazy and not read my manual...lol...I appreciate it.

Anyways, this is the deal I got, pretty good eh?

Don't feel bad. When I first got my CRX, my headlight bulbs (low beams) were looking terrible. I went to the store, and wanted to just replace those low beams...accidently picked up high beams. I got home, realized my mistake, and considered just throwing the new bulbs in the high beams, and making another trip the store, to replace the low's too. I then decided I did not want to waste money, so I took them back. The guy at discount auto parts said: "uh, it says right here on the side, 9005". I laughed a little, and said "yeah, I missed that". He replied "I don't see how....". I kind of laughed again, and said "yeah, it's weird, huh...".

I wanted to go off on this guy, but I had my nephew with me...I didn't want to set a bad example. Little did I know my nephew saw this guy was being a jerk, and *expected* me to say something. Oh well. We all make mistakes. Live and learn!

Re: 9005 @#!*&

seems you got them for a good price, but after shipping, you could have paid for a good set for about $17-20 from the store, had them in hand, and on car, but hey. I think that that is way too much for shipping.
These japenese guys around here has those lights in their store for sale. Some of the lights they have, the writing is japanese. Just thought I share.
