Twin Turbo 99 Tahoe
Hey yall i am twin turboing my 199 tahoe with two T3-super 60. I am custom building my own piping and intakes. I would appreciate any opinons that you ahve about a couple things: 1.) do i need to upgrade my ignition system? 2.) are there any tweaks that i may not know about taht i would need so that i dont blow my engine up. I would appreciate this a lot yall. Thanks for taking the time and if you want i will try and post or send you all some pictures if you want them.

Re: Twin Turbo 99 Tahoe
Have you addressed any of your fuel upgrades? This will be more important than the ignition upgrade. The factory ignition will provide enough spark to work the system but an MSD upgrade would definetly be better.

It will show how rich or lean you are running throughout you run. You can use a FPR to adjust to a certain extent but it will only adjust until you surpass limits of injectors and/or fuel pump at which point you will show running lean and need to upgrade injectors and/or fuel pump. |

Yes you do stand the possiblity of damaging your motor by running lean. I recommend you do a lot more research or even think about getting a supercharger kit before going ahead with a custom twin turbo setup. I work in a performance shop and see customers everyday spending ton's of unnecessary money from trying to do things they are not qualified to do. I deal with twin turbo cars and even own a twin turbo 300ZX but have never done a custom twin turbo setup on a tahoe. I have done superchargers on tahoe and chevy trucks which may turn out to be a better idea if you are inexperienced with setting up and tuning turbo vehicles. |
