Pro/Cons of painting brakes?

I'm considering painting my rotor hats (brembo blanks) with high tempature (1500F) paint. Has anyone done this? Does anyone know the advantages and disadvantages of doing so? I am considering painting them gray just for looks to prevent rusty rotor hats.

Thanks,
M

Use HIGH temperature paint , at least 1500 degrees.Brakes can get just as hot as an exhaust header . And make sure none gets on the braking surface itself.

Paint holds heat in longer.

Re: Re: Pro/Cons of painting brakes?

Paint it if you want, just dont it get on the surface as stated above. Paint your calipers to match while your at, just dont get any on the rubber seals.

You could sand the rust off, but its likely to come back. After you do whatever you do, spray the wheel mating surface with white lithium so the wheel doesn't stick it the rotors, peeling paint away next time you remove it.
