nice! i was looking for a 22b model but couldnt find one, so I thought about doing something like that as well sometime in the distant future. Your main concern will be to find/modify a different STI interior to match the 22b. The badge on the back you can either paint or photoetch or even just carve out of a small piece of styrene. Also, dont forget the 22b never came with a stereo so you will have to remove all traces of that if you want to retain authenticity. Lastly, you will have to find some 17in BBS rims and paint them in the same golden colour as the STi, as those were the specially made rims for the 22b.

dont forget the interior is two tone, black with blue inserts!
hope this helps a bit

You have touched my favourite.
I have prepared everything for converting a 22B and everything has been planned out. Excpet for the wheels.

I think the best donor car is the Hagesawa Impreza WRX sedan.
Its rear seat is a seperate piece from the interior tub, and its dash fits perfectly in the interior.
plus it has a center piece where the shiftknob and handbrake are located,
Its mirrors, unlike the fujimi ones, which only have a mirror set and not bases, come in as a complete piece with both mirror bases and connecting bases (like Tamiya WRX STI)

And add a 3rd LED brake light on the base mount of the rear spolier.

Along with subway and limited24, there is another very talented modeler from Taiwan who does a PERFECT job in recreating a 22B from WRC99 and fujimi GC8, whose name is sarafia 25.

You might want to check out his website

Hasegawa only releases 1 kind of WRX, the GC8 sedan/wagon

since you(we) dun need the body we can use both interchangably I suppose

I forgot to mention
dun forget to remove the starter kill and change the wiper location
and exhaust outlet sits at a different location as well.

For the wheels, check out the link I posted, or the other guy's
which is exactly the same thing.

I think when I get my hands on the project I want to leave it as if it had gone through a brake/wheel upgrade =)

And "Asurada"
Is that name what I think it is ? The all-mighty racecar??

I've been looking into this project for a while too, I wouldn't recommend the Hasegawa kit as a donor for the interior. Apart from being a 4door, their kit is narrower than Tamiyas. The Fujimi WRX interior however is a near perfect fit.

This is completely correct if one is trying to tackle this project's interior by fitting the tub onto tamiya's chasis. I was thinking of building the interior directly on the chasis. That race-filled floor could be covered by dark color coarse-grit sandpaper which, in my experience, is better simulating carpet than flocking (or better yet, Hasegawa WRX gives you a piece of carpet sticker), the rear seat is to be placed right on where package shelf and the seat meet, test-fitting shows this to be a good match. Dashboard and center console would sit very nicely in between the 2 door panels.

Biggest reason I am recommending this is that both Hagesawa's and Fujimi's door panels are SUPER flat and un-detailed, while Tamiya, even tho having gone through minor race-car mod, still stands out better-looking than other 2 brands.

I can snap a few photos upon request.

Moreover, in order to get the tub sitting on top of the chasis, the chasis needs to undergone a lot of cutting and sawing, which may not sound too good to some of us, including me.

just my little :2cents
