charger with scoop for 4th Gen

Hi everybody!

Could somebody tell me where I can get a supercharger with a big scoop on the hood (like the muscle cars used to have in the 70ies)? I am not only looking for the parts, also for a reliable tuner, that can mount it for me.

What car would be the best base for that? Should I go for a WS6, or is a regular T/A better?

One last question: What do I need to make a T/A beat an Audi RS4 or an EVO8? In numbers how to get a 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds?

Oh, one more thing: I am not familiar with the parts and makes over here in the US. So please, if you tell me I should get this or that part, please also let me know where I can get it (URL) and who could mount it.

Thanx in advance!

First off, the correct terminology would be a "blower", that it what you're looking to stick out of the hood. Next, I think a TA would be better than a WS6 equipped TA. Unless you're wanting to take a blown TA autocrossing, there's no real need for that suspension package (you'd be better off building your own in that case anyway)...

Don't know where to get one though, never tried...

If it was me I wouldn't use a new car for this, it would be cheaper to use an older car.

But a Formula Firebird would be good as well.

There are other methods to try as well, turbo's or centrifugal SC.

I wouldn't bother with forced induction for this.

Gearing, Traction, Cartek Head/Cam package with headers and true dual exhaust. That engine combo is proven to make a lot of power. Get some DOT approved drag radials and maybe a rear end swap would get you killing those cars like they are stock Civics.

LS1 - STAGE 2 HEADS
417 RWHP, 395 RWTQ NORMALLY ASPIRATED WITH "H" CAM
ON A STOCK C.I.D. 346 LS1 AND OTHER MODS.

Hot tank and inspect heads
Velocity mapped runner
Fully ported intake and exhaust runner
polished chamber
Competition 3 angle valve job
Resurface heads to desired compression
Stainless steel undercut REV valves 2.02 int. / 1.57 exh.
Viton valve seals
Proprietary hi performance valve springs for up to .580" lift
Titanium retainers
Set all valve spring pressures and heights
Flow test
Fully assembled cylinder head
Ready to bolt on / core is required
$2,399

Other Mods:

2000 SS LS1 M6 WITH STOCK BOTTOM END
MODIFIED ECU
LONG TUBE HEADERS WITH CATS
SLP CATBACK EXHAUST
WHISPER LID WITH K+N
LS-6 INTAKE (unported)

Traction is a big thing on the street, AWD take off is badass, you'll probably run them down when they 60 foot you.

That Combo and some drag radials would be soooo nice. Kinda makes me wish I had an LS1 car lol.

thanks for the advises in first place. And my appologies for my English. It's not my native language (as you might have already discovered).

Pheonix, I think the mods you're suggesting are not enough to beat a Audi RS4. This Thing comes from the factory with 380HP and some mods can easily lift that up to round 450 HP. Considering that the Car is smaller and lighter compared to a Trans Am, I think there is no way around a forced induction. NOS and drag radials are not an option because I need this car for normal street use and it has to pass the German DMV Inspection (which is possible with Turbos or Supercharger, but not with NOS). And of course I'm still searching for source for a nice blower. So if anybody knows one for LS1 engines, please let me know.

I wasn't ripping on your english, I was actually trying to help out others who might be looking at this thread and be confused. I knew what you meant...

You can definately build an LS1 to 450 hp NA. Look at the Z06 Corvettes. They're at 405 with nothing more than a few changes on the LS1. Put some aftermarket headers, heads, maybe a cam on there, and some other go-fast goodies, and you're making the same amount of hp as the RS4 without forced induction. If you build your car right, there's no reason you can't have a naturally aspirated LS1 engine around 450hp. Much above that and you start running into problems with the aluminum block. Also, if you're gonna put down that much power with an LS1, time to think about getting a new rear end, like a 12 bolt or a Ford 9".

The other thing that you have to worry about is that the RS4 is four wheel drive. The F-body isn't. That'll give him more grip that you'll have to make up with acceleration, and maybe more hp...

The key to that is that is REAR WHEEL power. The rating for those other cars is factory SAE net taken at the fly wheel. You need to subtract a certain amount for the transmission, which in an AWD car takes even more parasite power.

Roughly a 420hp Manual Mustang will have 360-370 RWHP. Everything that moves sucks out some power, and like I said before AWD will lose a lot more.

Even the Stage 1 is making more power to the wheels then a 450hp AWD car.

I also dont' see why the DMV wouldn't allow Dot approved drag radials as they are DOT approved meaning the Department of Transport said they were safe for road use. You would need to find ones allowed by your government of course.

Performance is a whole care type deal as BlkCamaro suggested, a Ford 9" would be nice and beefing up the tranny wouldn't be bad idea either.
