car problems valves or something else
well guys my cars is messing up and im not sure whats wrong with it . i got a leak down test down my number2 cyclinder is low. the guy was trying to say that i need to just build my block i was like bs so now im hear my freind thinks its my valve would some bend valves cause my compression to drop in the cyclinder there bent in. the car is like missfireing and the check engine light is coming on. any help would be koo thanks

yes with a bent valve you will lose compression, and cause mis fires as well.

if you or a friend can get to it. Pump air into the offending cylinder. Listen to the trottlebody, if you hear airflow there it's a bad intake valve. Go to the exaust pipe while pumping in the air and if you hear the air there it's prolly an exaust valve. Pop open the oil fill cap and if you hear airflow through the crankcase then your rings are bad and if you open the radiator cap and there is bubles you have a blown head gasket. This is the easiest way to check whats bad in the motor. If it be a valve the only work you have to do is head work. The block doesn't need to come out. Leave it where it is

it was 75 dollars is it to much i dont remember me said that the 2 cyl. is only getting 10 percent compression

If the valve is completely jacked, then it cant have compression, but he doesnt know its broke (becuase it isnt). It wouldnt hold pressure at all, like camaro said. But if it was just a valve adjustment problem, then it could still hold some air, but let most of it out. He did say it was only 10% compressed right? Not 10% loss? Id just take off cover and check the valve lash with a feeler gague (just adjust the valves like you normally would on that cylinder (both sides)), unless your going to pay someone to do it, then I'd go through all the steps poncho mentioned before with the compressed air, before I'd pay money.
