3rd horn in 3 months

My horn stopped working so I took it to the dealer and they wanted $70 for the horn and $70 to install it. So I went to the auto store and bought a copatible horn and installed it myself. It worked great for a week, then one night for no reason the fuse blew. No tail lights, no horn, so I replaced the fuse and the tail lights work fine but the horn wont work. replaced the horn again...one week later same problem.

Any ideas what might be wrong? the replacement horn is to the specs so it matches just fine, I even tried with a used horn from another 92 civic..same problem after one week or so.

Help!!

Re: 3rd horn in 3 months

sounds like something is wrong with the wiring, only way a fuse would blow, check all the wires

Has the car been in accident with front-end damage? I would guess there is a loose or broken wire.

O/T I cant stand the way Honda horns sound so I installed some air horns I has laying around, LOL. Too bad there isn't room for the "Dixie" horn(Dukes of Hazzard) theres 5-7 seperate horns. JC Whitney carries all types off horns.

No, the car has never been in an accident of any kind. How would I check for a loose or broken wire? Should I just have the dealer take a look? I never had to use it when it was working, now that it isnt, it seems like every old lady in a SUV wants to run over me...lol

lol
You would have to remove the front bumper to access the horns

the horn switch could be bad also

its hard to say - since electrical problems can be a bitch.
