I have recently bought a '95 3000GT for a little over $10,000 and I was wondering if there was any way to make it a Twin Turbo with two of the biggest turbos out there? I know it can be done but I was wondering if anyone knows what exactly do I have to replace to gain the most performance and hp? And what would be the BEST replacment for everything, like not just stock parts? And I was thinking about getting an HKS exhaust system, does anyone know any web sites or have any sound clips of what it would sound like on my car and what other exhaust systems would sound like?
Thanks for reading, and if possible does anyone know any good web sites I could go to for anything I need to modify this car further? And if you have any suggestions on what I should do I would love to hear them, Thanks again. P.S. If anyone can get my discounts, that'd be very helpful, Lol. |

Go to www.3si.org and do a search for exactly what your looking for. There are two or three people over there that have put turbos on the SL (or the Stealth RT) and can give you a complete rundown on what needs to be done.

Just buy a VR4, it will be way cheeper. As far as the biggest turbos, you looking around 10 grand for a kit, but its made for a VR-4. So here is the rundown on the different parts.
crankshaft, pistons, rods, heads?, fuel system, manifolds, turbos, o2 housings, downpipe, cat-back, transmision, transfercase, driveshaft, rear end, all wheel stearing(depending on year), rotors, calipers, shocks, springs, ECU, and last but not least the chassis(have fun swapping that). And im sure I missed some stuff. |

Technically, you wouldn't NEED the new tranny or rear end???? And you wouldn't need aws, the brake or shock upgrades and definantly not a chasis (lol
). I mean the car would run with trubos on basically no changes outside some air and fuel upgrades. It would run like complete shit and maybe not even for very long but it would run. But I will agree that it would almost not be worth it. Granted a few people do have FWD turbo cars but it cost them an arm and a leg and almost ALL of them went with single turbo setups and didn't even use huge turbos at that. If I can give you some advice it'd be forget a turbo for now. Get to know the car and get comfortable driving it and moding it then worry about forced induction. For parts and ideas, check these out: www.dynamicracing.com www.3sxperformance.com www.3kgtmotorsports.com www.importpoweronline.com www.summitracing.com www.stealth316.com/0-home.com And then as Yogs said, www.3si.org

Hey, Thanks guys, I didnt actually buy this 3000GT SL yet, but it was a possibilty. It is a little over ten grand but i would rather buy a VR-4 for the AWD and stock turbos, but it is impossible to find one anywhere. If you can give me any advice on where to locate one that would be much appreciated. I live in Cincinnati Ohio but i'm willing to travel abit to find one, not too far but far enough if its really worth it. I'm looking for a 94+ VR-4 for e decent price. I use to own a '92 Dodge Stealth so i am used to driving something similiar. Well once i find a VR-4 I also want to replace the turbos with the biggest and the best, Have any suggestions?
I had a pic of my old Stealth, but the file was too big for me to post if. If you know anyway for my to lower ther number of bytes, i'll be able to post it. The person before me wrecked into a guardrail, so the frame was bent, so that is why the lights were propped up, i think it looks better this way, but the damage was too much to fix. After his wreck though he replaced the font bumper with a 3000GT front bumper that he found on eBay for like $150. |

My mistake, I was listing what is needed to change an SL to a VR4, twin turboing an SL is much easyer, but you dont need anything bigger than the stock 9b turbos off the VR4.
My advise, get a VR4. As long as its not your first car. www.autotrader.com |
