actually the skyline only lost by 3 points. now that was close. the supra lost by around 10. which is also extremely close. now lets say if the skyline looked alittle better, it would've gotten around 5 more points in teh show car department of the test and it would've won top spot instead of number 2. this year sean morris is entering again. and this time is it a R34 all the other R33's in the last 2 contested had bugs in its ALTESSA ETS PRO (AWD) system where it would act as an open diff on hard right turns, and it hurt the handling numbers bad. now that he brought an R34 in it, that problem should not exist in that car. so we will see. maybe the skyline will be number 1 this year.

I wanted Hybridsol to enter into the contest because his car is pretty damn crazy and could have beat at least a few cars in that USCC... but I don't think he actually came aroudn to it.

I was kind of dissapointed by how many bugs there were with those cars. And especially that vr-4... what a god damn cheater.. just to get on the mag. I hope he's embarrassed.

and for the "ultimate" street car challenge title, I would think that those cars should be making a little more power. I don't remember exact figures, but the Viper wasn't making all that much HP... And that Type R was only running low 13's.. what the...

I still want to get to work on my entrant for the USCC; a Crown Engineering Chevrolet Corvair.

You see, Crown Engineering put out this great kit in the seventies to make the rear-engined, flat six Corvair a mid-engined, small-block V8 Corvair. It uses a 5spd ZF transaxle instead of the GM transaxle and helps the handling of the car a great deal.

There's a 1965 Corvair Monza coupe sitting at the charity auto lot with a gutted interior, too. Build up an LT5, Lingenfelter or Callaway style, redo the suspension with some more modern components, install a full cage, paint the thing in Chapparal pearl white with candy blue pinstriping along the flanks. Trim the interior in tan suede. Chrome, polish, powdercoat, and anodize anything that isn't painted, and then watch the jaws drop when it burbles up to the line and pulls an 11.

All things given, I thought the Skyline did quite well for nearly STOCK. Hell the others were pretty heftly modified from what I read. Considering coaxing over 600hp out one isn't much of a feat, only takes a little cash for the right combination and not only will you have a brutal street car but a very reliable one at that.

Notice, I said "style". I'm not going to pay Reeves Callaway or John Lingenfelter to build the engine. I'll do it myself because I know everything.

Actually, this is a build-up I'm saving for when I hit the Powerball and have 50 million dollars to play with.
