Abs

how will ABS affect a 240's sideways capabilities? does it make it easier/harder/no difference? just came to my mind and was a little curious

well have you ever driven a car without ABS and a car with ABS?

say your comming into a turn too fast and you lock the brakes up too hard, youw ill do a little slide, but if you let off the brakes real quick you will be back to normal... now if you were wanting to induce some oversteer in this turn, this would be a better setup.

Now if you did the same thing with a ABS car you would probably stay in a straight line and not loose traction, you could turn while still on the brakes and it would pretty much be impossible to induce oversteer while using the brakes. There are plenty of other measures to make your car oversteer though so I guess it doesn't really matter. I personally like non ABS better and if you get in a hairy situation, you just need to know what to do and trust the car.

ABS helps a hell of a lot at the track. You can mash the brakes at each corner without having to worry about locking up and skidding towards the curb, plus your pads last longer. Its a hell of a lot safer in real driving too - if my S14 (RIP) had been equipped with abs, it probably would've been able to drive away from the wreck (rear-end collision).

I would gladly pay $2000+for an aftermarket abs system for my car (provided it was a good system). Without good tires its a death trap in the rain.

I never have a problem locking up my brakes in turns when I have it planned out, sure if someone pulls out in front of you it might not work as good as ABS when your panic stopping, but I do like the ability to lock them up when you want to.
