92' civic DX is busting my nerves, i want some acceleration!

My parents bought me a civic b/c it's cheap, and man do I hate the car. It's so damn slow, when i try to pass people I'll floor the damn pedal and this engine starts making a loud ass noise, but there's still no damn acceleration. I heard the only real way to get real acceleration is an engine swap. You can do the intake/exhaust system but that'll give me like 10-15 hp max right. I put in a Tornado, I think it helped a little bit, the dyno claims it gives 20 hp but i really doubt that. I want a car with like 160 hp+, I think i'm just gonna trade in my civic to get a nissan 240sx

Spend $300-500 and buy a D16z6 and your set. Thats enough power and with bolt ons your set.

A D16Z6 is not being set considering he has aspirations to have 160hp even w bolt ons.

Honda - Hold On Not Done Accelerating

Your better of installing a Cold-air intake than a Tornado

tornado does do anything,

if u wanted something fast that is right out of the box u should get something other then a civic, now if u want to spend money to make the civic fast, then u gotta get a new motor and probably turbo that sucker, then u can be puting down some actually decent numbers, allthough i am sure u are like everyone else on here who doesnt have tons of money laying around so the mod process is just that a process, it takes time, not like just one day 100hp civic and then next bam 250hp civic. wish it could work like that but it doesnt unless u got money to blow all at once.
