Game Cube update :)

Well I finally picked up 2 games last nite We got Luigi's Mansion and Super Monkeyball. The graphics on both are awesome. We played Luigi's Mansion for a little bit then popped in SuperMonkey Ball and ended up staying up til 3 am playing that. It was a lot of fun. A friend was with us and we ordered in some pizza and all that good stuff.

Luigi's Mansion was pretty cool...it was the typical Mario-style game where you collect coins and other objects and fight the bad guys to save Mario. There was a little touch of Ghostbusters in this since Luigi has to vaccum ghosts as he goes along. We didn't get too far into this because we spent so much time on the other game.

SuperMonkey Ball...more fun than a barrel of monkeys (haha, ok that was korny). You have to guide little monkeys in a ball thru obstacle courses and collect bananas as you go. On single-player mode you earn "game play points" to unlock other mini-games...which include Monkey Billiards, Monkey Golf, Monkey Bowling, Monkey Racing, and Monkey Target. Monkey Target was available right away. The monkeyball lauches off a ramp then when it is airborne, you have to open up the ball and guide the monkey on his flight and land on a target in the ocean. You have to deal with obstacles like wind and its direction. There is an optional wheel of danger which throws in spike bombs, clouds, and big bombs to make it more challengeing.

Overall, I am pleased with this system as far a player's prospective. I am defintiely glad we picked this one up.

I'm not into the technical side of things but as far as the "user" or "player" side goes....the controller is very comfortable and easy to work with. Our friend who has an X-box and a PS2 was pretty impressed by the cube and said of all the systems, he liked the Cube's controller best. Although Nintendo's games are more cartoony and aimed at the younger crowd and families, I think it makes the playing experience more enjoyable. Also the disks are mini-cd's which I thought was really cool. Another feature I like, and I am not sure if the other systems allow for this, but I like how you can have more than 2 players but don't need a controller for each player, you can share it.

I believe that depends on the gamemaker. Also, it has to be a turnbased game becauase you can't exactly play a fighting game sharing a controller. So if it's a turn based game and the developers program it to be able to use one controller then it can be done on any system. As long as they put the option to use more than one controller if you have it. Because on Worms World Party for the DC, you HAVE to use one controller and it sucks because as you're passing off the controller, it's easy to mess up the next persons turn.

Might as well, make an update of my own.

I picked up Halo, and I must say, I spent about 6 hrs on it last night, and its quite the game. I am glad I picked it up, because I am loving every minute of it.

My friend has that and he loves it. Yesterday he went and met up with a bunch of other gamer friends and they did a huge tournament. I have yet to find out how that went.

The game sounds nice, but I think I'll stick with the PS2. I like their games better.
