I have a question concerning an engine swap ....rite now I have an 88 Civic LX (4 dr) and the engine that s in it is blown so rite now my main concern is to get the car back on the road for as cheap as possile...so I found an engine for sale ..It s a D15b7(probably will b able to get for 400$ can)...I know it s not the most powerful engine but the reason why I picked it is cause it comes complete with tranny and ecu and evrythin....So anyways my question is how hard is it to put it in...pretty easy I figured cause there is no Vtec to wire or anythin but I m plannin on doin the swap my self so I was wonderin if it s just a matter of takin the old one out and put this one in ...like would evrythin connect at the same place...( I was thinkin of usin a manuel ..could I use the same steps as if I was replacing a stock engine...Anyways..please let me know if I have to do anythin special b4 puttin it in or if its just a direct bolt in.....Thanx !!!!

well since the d15b7 is a obd 1 u gotta convert it to obd0, idk if your stock lx dist and intake mani bolts directly to the b7 but if it does all u gotta do is put the lx dist on the b7 and also run the whole intake mani on the b7, that way its wired up for obd0 since u never changed anything and it should be good

the distributor does NOT need to be modified. the D15B7 is a glorified OBD0 engine in an OBD1 car. It still has the plugs on the back side of the engine. The tranny will not work, but the rest will.
