How do you remove the GREY trim on the dash? 92-95

I am just REALLY currious and ive been fighting with this thing but is there ANY possible way to take off that GREY trim thing on the 92-95 civic? I have brown interior and the trim where the buttons are is grey! I cant stand such a combination! I want to paint it black. I just wanna know HOW in the hell we remove this thing.. Please tell me its possible lol. Even in the Haynes book it doesnt say how to take it off. What color do you think I should pain it to if I can take it off? what goes good with....(eww) brown? I think black and brown is better than grey and brown. or white and brown. Please help me!

Thanks

As far as painting it I don't know but you are doing it backwards. Don't paint that to match the tan paint the tan shit black.

I want to paint it black thats what I mean... its not even tan though.. its brown... eww.... even on the side of the door it says "Int color = Brown"
I'd like to paint that grey thing black and also pain the center console black... where the shifter and e-brake are.. should I also clear coat it to protect it?

black and grey look nice though... but brown and grey look REALLY ugly and make my car look old as hell. How do you remove it?

Thanks

as far as getting it off, I think it's much like getting the fabric off the door panels, you have to remove some clips from behind. ( I could be wrong, but in my experience with fiddling with it, thats what it seems like)

also, I wouldnt paint it black. black and brown, I dunno, kinda, ugh. you dont wear a brown belt with black shoes. (course I agree with you grey and brown aint winnin any beauty pagents.) why not paint it a tope or off white kinda color. that would match well with the brown, and if you got an off white, closer to tan, it would be easy on the eyes and look cleaner than white after some dust.

having just dug around under my dash last weekend, Im pretty sure I was right. I didnt take the dash off, but sageuvagony I had you in mind...feeling around up there, it looks like that trim piece is clipped in there somehow. short of taking the dash off, thats my theory.

and hey, much love for AF, but Im not takin my dash off if I dont have to.

lemme know if Im right er not though, should you venture into it.

have you seen thosee CF trim pieces they make? maybe you might want somehtin like that instead of painting your trim. I think they make paintable trim bezels too. cant remember the company name. saw it in sport compact mag. about a 2 months ago.

B & I auto trim, in flordia I think, makes Trim peices that go there. They have Carbon Fiber, and a bunch of others. Maybe its Flordia auto trim. But those trim peices look pretty tight.

i'm from australia and i'm having lots of problems getting this grey interior part out too..
has anyone actually done it, and how did they get it out ?
did u have to take out the centre console part and under/around the steering wheel?
and also, is it just clips or screws or what?
any help would be greatly appreciated, because after reading all of this forum, i still have no idea .
