It has been said that the next generation 2-doors based on the 3-Series will be the 4-Series. BMW, apparently, is going to even numbers for 2-doors (4-Series, 6-Series)...and odd numbers for four-doors and wagons (1-Series, 3-Series, 5-Series, 7-Series).

The pictures you posted are the 1-Series-based coupes (probably 2-Series), I believe.

Thatd be cool if BMW finally came out with a hardtop convertible.

That's not a picture of a hardtop convertible. Those are two different vehicles or concepts. Notice how large the rear window is on the coupe...you'd never fit that behind the seat of the convertible.

No. The 3-Series will be the 4-door (sedan and wagon) versions....and the 4-Series will be the 2-door (coupe and convertible) versions.

I sense a bit of photochop on the pic of the hardtop coupe. That's not a BMW roof, looks more like a MB.
