Car stolen

i got my car stolen last night. i parked it near a club and when i came out it was gone. the cops found my car on some street, stripped of everything. they stole my rims and tires and replaced them with donuts, they stripped my 4 pc body kit off my car, my dash, my door panels, and the car is a total write off.

I so feel your pain. My car was stolen two weeks ago today, from my home.

I hope you have full coverage w/ a good insurance company.

I won't be buying another Civic...

Good thieves can break into any car. Some might be a bit easier than others, but they're all vulnerable. Anyhow, sorry to hear you lost a lot of stuff off of your car, but at least you (hopefully) have decent insurance.

People break into cars to steal all sorts of stuff. Hell, one time my car was broken into and all that was stolen was the change out of my change holder. Didn't bother with the cd player, or the changer, or anything else in the car. Thieves made off with maybe a little over a dollar in small change. Thieves can get $$$ for just about every part on your car. Sometimes they take stupid shit like, sometimes they take good stuff.

Everything on these cars are interchangable, so everything has a street value to someone...

They put the wheels (donuts) on so they can get rid of the car away from whereever they stripped it. Wouldn't a bunch of stripped Civic frames outside one garage be a little conspicuous?

My car was recovered and the suspects led the officer back to the garage with my motor and most of the parts they stripped. The insurance company wrote it off because who knows what they damaged getting the engine out? The wire harness alone would be a nightmare to repair. Simple little parts could be damaged but go unnoticed until they try and rebuild the motor, then boom....!

Still sound like crap?

1. I just sold an integra dash and door panels for almost $300, so it's definately worth taking the 5 minutes to take those parts off.

2. Replacing the rims, $30 for a set of steelies is no loss especially when that means they can roll that car onto a trailor and take it out and dump it somewhere.

3. A total write off because it would cost much more than the car is worth to have a professional put the whole car back together. So it's basically not worth having the car put back together. It would be worth it for me of course, do it myself and I could have a nice car for cheap. But insurance usually won't pay some kid to do it, they have professionals do it so they know it's done right, which is spendy.

And I'm sorry about all of your cars that got ripped off. I wish I could buy your car from the insurance though jay, I'd love to have all of the pieces and just put it back together, that would be a fun project.
