2000 GXE ?'s
Ar the 2000 GXE Maxima's governed, and if so to what? I would alsolike some suggestions for suspension and tire upgrades, also what are some peoples experiences with modded ecu's, and some prices of them.

all gxe's are governed at 127 mph. se's and gle's aren't and go to 140+
there is a way to make them ungoverned though. it involves cutting a wire on your ecu and reults in a Check engine light that won't go away. |

I personally have had my GXE to 130 and you can feel that the car has plenty more to go but you can feel the governor kick against the pedal while it is floored.

You notice the difference right away, even in the quality of the cars, I went on a trip to the Atl last week and I rented (didn't want to put any unnecessary mileage on my car) a 2k Taurus, man that thing sucked @$$. I put the pedal to the metal trying to merge onto the highway traffic and that thing just didn't have the punch my Max has, I kept feeling like someone was going to run me off the highway.

not to mention the tranny is the clunkiest shittiest shifting crapbox ever. i don't know about all tauruses but mine accelerates for like 1-1/2 seconds(probably less but it feels long) after you let off the gas and the visibilty sucks too. scary how many of those death traps are on the road.
