Wet Nitrous Modifications!
I have a D16Y8 engine.
**If I were to get a Wet System or even a Direct Port nitrous system.... What other type of modifications would need to be done for the safety of my engine? For example....would i need new pistons or injectors? |

If I were you I would go with a "wet" system. With a wet system you shouldn't have to upgrade your injectors because the Nitrous system you go with should have a fuel atomizing injector that sprays gas with the nitrous inside the intake. It does this to ensure the air to fuel ratio is correct so you will NOT melt your engine because the sensor will not accomodate for this in all situations.
I would keep away from the "Direct Port" injection unless you have a lot of time, a lot of money, a mechanic to install it, and you are going to drag your car professionaly. It usually starts at a 200 horse increase and goes up from there. Plan on rebuilding your engines internals to handle this, and then rebuilding it every so often because of the abuse. We all like to dream, but I say go wet for everyday streetability. your engine should handle a 75 shot pretty well. 100 might be pushing it.

People tell me that a DRY Nitrous System would be the easiest and cheapest system to install. This is great since i'm a newbie...
but will this "dry" nitrous system even give me enough power? I mean....will i even feel this thing pick up? |
