synthetic oil

hi mechanics! I was toying with the idea of running synthetic oil in my 68 vw beetle,but,I've heard that if you have a small oil leak and use synthetics you will end up with a big oil leak. true? any suggestions thanx,jarrod

Not really, unless you're using a shitty synthetic. Mobil 1 or equivalent have seal swelling additives to act just like dyno juice on seal integrity.

But remember, the only reason you have an oil leak to begin with is a broken seal. Can't blame the oil for that.
