FUJIMI EK-9 Civic Type-R HB Progress PICS!

I'm making a kit from Fujimi, an EK-9 Type R HB. I just finished with primer-ing and painting the body, I'm still waiting for the paint to cure right now after which polishing and waxing will be done.

The wheels on this kit, I still haven't decided on -- I'll post pics of "candidate" wheels for the kit, soon.

Here are some pics of the paint job, if you look closely on the roof, there seems to be some "flaring" happening on the paint, like a shadow of sorts. I still haven't figured out what makes this happen, would like to try and "rubbing" it off with some compound, but I'm just thinking it just needs some curing.

Anyway, this is my first progress thread, and my first kit after a long "hiatus" from modelling..

Some feedback, please.

YOur doing good.

The only thing I would have done different is cut out the grill and put an FMIC.

Want to see the choice of wheels ASAP.

I like the paint job. You did good with red. I think you should keep the grill in the front, just paint it flat black and the moldings as well.

wow! thanks for the comments guys!

Shorty4859

with regards to the suspension, i tried fitting the hull of my other EK-9, which is essentially the same thing as this one I'm making, except that other was is the Initial D EK-9 kit -- I had a pretty satisfactory "lowered-result" of the stock-suspension fitting. Although the height isn't that low compared to "slammed-cars" criteria. I'm still thinking of still lowering it tho, now if I could just get my hands on some 19" rims in this coutnry of mine!

With regards to the grill-comments, I was thinking of leaving it that color, since most of the cars I found around town had theirs in their own respective body colours, and the two side-grills un-opened. So there, I'll prolly leave it at that.

The intercooler within the grill, will probably be scratch-built, although one has been provided by Fujimi (a raised detail in the inner under-chassis-tub), I still would like a prominent-looking Intercooler.

So there, thanks for the comments! Will try to have new pics up in a few days.

Any suggestions for the interior colour-scheme?

ooo....same advice my friend gave, hmm ok! i'll take this up. red and light grey, now to look for a light-gray spray. black? which parts?

here are the wheels i decided to get, pretty easy taks since I'm limited to the wheels I have from my other kits, plus getting aftermarket wheels from my country is close to impossible, if I try to have them shipped, I'll get pinched by tax! such is life..

Tell me what you think of these:

Wasn't too happy with some parts of the painted-body, so I sanded a majority of the body. Will be re-painting the hood mostly, and the bonnet.

I was just wondering if a new coat of paint could cover up minute "holes", somewhat appearing to be chipped paint on the surface? Or is putty-ing supposed to be done? I'm trying to avoid doing that since IMO the paint coverage and tint of TS-8 (Italian Red), won't be able to cover up the applied putty...

Some pics of the newly sanded EK-9:
