1987 plymouth horizon timing problem
Help! I just replaced the distributor with a remanufactured one and just rebuilt the carburetor. I took the vacuum line loose from the spark control computer as given in the instructions. The timing is unsteady and bounces back and forth from 10 to thirteen degrees. What is causing the bouncing back and forth? What should I try?
Also, it idles rough and the compression in Cylinder one is 150, cylinder two is 148, cylinder three is 143, and cylinder four is 134. Is this a problem? BTW, this is a 2.2 with automatic transmission, carburetored fuel delivery, and has just over 47,000 miles on it. Loose timing belt tensioner, or bad timing belt
Could also be a broken or cracked distributor gear or gear drive.

Wow, only 47k miles on it. I wouldn't worry about your compression, although for such low miles, you shouldn't have such a variance. anything over 120 for that engine will get you by quite well.
