88 grand caravan bucks and hesitates!
I have an 88 grand caravan 3.0L V6 engine. My caravan bucks and hesitates as if it was not getting any fuel or as if I were stepping on and letting off the gas. It does this after the engine warms up, at highway speeds or at low speeds even if not under little or any load. As part of my mechanic's diagnosis, we replaced the fuel pump (New), and the fuel filter. He had another caravan in the yard that ran fine, so we swapped parts to try to find the problem. We swapped the fuel coil, the distributer, even put in a new one, the computer, I think it's called the TPS that we also swapped and one other thing, but I'm not sure what it's called. None of these things worked and my mechanic is stumped, he said he was going to ask his friend who used to work for chrysler if he had any Ideas. I thought it wise to ask around as well. ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM? We even tried to plug his computer into the van even after replacing the computer, and his computer could not communicate with it. His computer was however able to communicate with the van that did work.

Re: 88 grand caravan bucks and hesitates!
I had a car that did the same thing and turned out to be the fuel injector. Get some cleaner and put it in on a half tank to make it more concentrated. If that doesn't work, it may need replacing. Hope this helps.

Had the same problem...after much time and $$$$ it ended up being the fuel pump. Changed all sensors, cleaned injectors, throttle body...may consider this first or sometime...good luck!

I had the same problem. It turned out to be my spark plug wires. The previous supervisor of the dealership put on some generic wires and they melted. Once I had OEM wires put on the problem stopped. I thought my transmission had gone again!

I had a similar problem - the answer (found on the internet) was to clean the throttle plate (whatever that is). When I asked my mechanic to do this, the problem was fixed.
