I know how to change an oil filter. That is, until I got my intrigue...I have the 3.5 with the filter element that you replace... My question isn't really how to change it, although that info would be cool...but is there anything I should know before I go poking around under the hood, figuring it out myself? I don't want to screw anything up

No surprises, just make sure you have armor plated your knuckles. Theres not much room underneath to turn an oil filter wrench, and they do slip while there too.

I just bought a handy gizmo from Auto Zone. They make a tool that fits over the end of the filter that you use a wratchet with. This is available in a size that fits the filter plug. The thing broke on me the first time I tried to use it. Took it to work and will weld it. But it does fit the plug. Pretty cheap too. Under $3 I think. Hope this helps.
