Boost Controlling

Ok, another issue in my quest of the turbo taurus is the boost controller. if i were to get a manual boost controller, would i be able to make it open the wastegate at a lower boost than stock or would i have to go all out and get the electronic boost controller.

Cut the waste gate arm, tap it, put a coupler on it to exstend it out.
Boost controllers can only add boost, cant run lower than waste gate setting with out moving it out.
Here a pic at the very bottom:

well, nevermind i guess, i kinda realized, i'm running out of time for me to do this whole turbo project, i have 3 weeks before i start college, i'm just kinda goina give it up i guess, its kinda depressing me, because i've spent almost all my free time in the past 2 months researching this besides the past 3 years of my life obsessing over turbos. plus the financial situation would be close to my limit, i'd still have to get an ignition system, and possibly the $450 (or possibly more) custom chip. i've only spent about 400 bux so far and i would have to spent 600 more at the very least from what i know.

thanx for all your help though it was very much appreciated.

Your still gonna be obsessed with turbo's while your in college. I suggest to read every thing you can.
My self, I'd rather turbo a inline 4, just need one manifold, one turbo and more room to work with.
Your not gonna be satisfied untill you have a car with a turbo.

A boost controller can only increase the boost pressure, not decrease it.

Yeah, I said that:
".....Boost controllers can only add boost, cant run lower than waste gate setting with out moving it out....."

As far as ignition, as long as you dont get carryed away with boost stock will work, just need colder plugs and fresh wires.
The more boost you want, the more you'll need to retartd.
A small plug gap is needed also.

I dont know why they said that, I think yours has a MAF just like Escorts and they can run a AFC. ???
