fuel and power

well I ws looking to upgrade my fuel pump when i got back from school. i got back and found my datsun would not start and it was becuase of no fuel due to the fact than no power is being feed to the rear tank pump. after the fuse it has power but there is no power at the pump connector.

WHere does the wire go though the car and does it run though any relays?

Re: fuel and power

UPDATE!
everything seems to be going well. we found the relay but the wire that turns the relay on does not seem to be hot. do anyone know what trips the rear fuel pump to come on and where the wire goes, we are about to take out the AC to find out...

so did you fix it???

the hot wire that kicks on the fuel pump has got to be connected into your accessory wire in the ignition somehow...

try disconnecting the fuel pump connection and running a battery charger just to the fuel pump wires and see if it kicks on...

heh

well we know the pump works, the wire for the relay well we don't know where that's not hooked up but we now know why. the pump back there for whatever resone was bypassed and the front pump could not pull the air up very well so after little priming and a lot of crankingwe got it running. I got some white some though :/ I'm hopping it's becuase it's been sitting for so long or just running hella rich. but next I'm going to try changing the oil and do some basics
