Open top S15?
Ok, I don't know if I'm right, but I had heard that before the sportier SR20DET S15 was created, there was a lesser powered, retractable hardtop version of the Silvia S15. Am I right?

i'm not sure if it's hard-top, but it's called the Silvia Varietta, and it is indeed a non-turbo convertible S15. i think i heard somewhere that it was auto-only...but if i'm wrong, someone correct me. also, i think it came out AFTER the DET version.

Varietta, that's the word I was looking for. Ok maybe it was after the turbo. I'm pretty sure it was a hardtop, because I think I saw a of pic one and it was a lot longer than the Spec-R, for more storing room.

hardtop yes non-turbo yes weenie yes cockpit shape looks completely different than regular s15. almost completely different looking car. it was the luxury model. kind of like the 80's Camaro Berlinetta. it suffered from noassatol. |
