500 SL insurance cost

I am trying to prove someone wrong so I need to know how much would it cost to insure a 03 500SL with a perfect record, lowest coverage. In other words, I need the absolue lowest cost. Also, i've been told that it is usual for a 99 model year 120,000 Benz at 30K miles to lose $100000 of value. Is this possible? Thanks.

My insurance is about $1,300. at mercury. that's to $300,000. I would imagine a little less with lower coverage.

wait can you rephrase your reply? Your SL500 insurance is at $1300? I'm confused at the wording.

Don't know about the '03 but I looked into insurance for a '98 SL500 and it was gonna be $1000 every 6 months for someone (me) with a perfect driving record.

'99 SL500's with 30,000 miles go for about $40,000 now. A '95 might be in the mid to upper $20's.

Thats correct. My insurance through mercury is $1,300. per year with 300K of liability. I have a 2003 SL500. I am curious if that seems low or high. I have a good driving record too.
