Air Conditioning
I just got a 03, Ram 1500 quad with V8 (not hemi)
the air conditioning seems a bit lite..... It can take upwards of 15 minutes to just get to cool, granted I am out in the middle of the desert with 110f temps but it just seems like its a hampster blowing on an icecube. any ideas, thoughts or comments ? Thanks JS1 |

For a 03 vehicle it should be freezing in the cab. I'd take in for warranty work. Probably has freon leaking or is just low.

I have a similar problem with my 95 Ram 1500, 5.9. The AC compressor keeps trying to engage, whether I'm running it or not, and when I do run the AC, I get cool, not cold air, no matter how long I wait. When I watch the compressor at idle, I can hear metal grinding metal in the compressor, with AC off. If I turn it on, the clutchlike thing that activates the compressor slips, and I get no cold air. Freon, bad compressor, help please.

Bad A/C a Dodge trademark!?!
I have a 2002 Durango RT with pitiful air conditioning. The dealer refuses to adimit there is a problem with it. (I suppose their 10 minute assessment is more accurate than my sweating around Phoenix all summer!) It is ashame that after forking over $35k I can't even keep as cool as in my $10k Corolla!
