'57 AMT Corvette Street Machine

Had this car on the burner for a while. It didn't come out as expected however. This my first AMT model - when I started building the kit, I was impressed with the detail. But, towards the end of the kit, I was getting very frustrated as there were some pretty annoying fitment probs, the main ones being the rear suspension/wheels and the hood (I had to take out the air cleaner to actually make the hood sit the way it does, which is still not quite right). The paint is Duplicolour 'Mulberry', BMF and black flocking on the interior. All in all - started out great, ended up in frustration!!! (Appolgies for the quality of the pix - didn't realise until I saw 'em on the screen!! )

Sorry about the interior shot...

IMO it would look better with the wheels tucked in abit more and lowered abit...but it looks more like a 60's look which it may be anyway.

Nice two tone look to it.

I agree - however, I just started tinkering around with lowering straight forward Fujimi suspensions - the AMT one is a little beyond me. I was actually looking at using different wheels alltogether, but decided not to muck about with these suspensions just yet. The stock rear wheel is larger than the front anyways.
