Question Switching from Trooper to X-Terra, help

My Trooper is working fine but starting to show its age ('89) so I'm thinking about getting an X-Terra. I like the looks and size (Trooper is too big now). Used would be OK. My question is: Is there a big difference between the different years? Would I save much by getting one that is a few years old or is it better to go with a new one? I don't want (need) a lot of power (supercharged, etc.) but 5 sp. manual is a must.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Bob

the 00 - 01 models seem to be holding up the best imo. they aren't having some of the small troubles the newer models are having, and the older models have durasteel which is great if you live in a road salt state. you can't go wrong with any year.

Yup. 00-01 was before they started mucking with the truck and while usually first year production models have the most problems, this doesn't seem to happen with the Xterra.
