Getting a CRX.

Yep.

Haven't even seen it yet, no idea what year it is, or what trim level (the owner has no idea), but I'm going to go look at it tomorrow.

"Why would he buy a CRX that he's never even seen before?" you might ask... And the answer is simple. I'm not buying it. It's free.

The owner says that it won't pass emissions, and it overheats, but that makes no difference to me. When I get it, it's going to be a track-only car anyways, so I don't have to get tabs for it or anything, and I figure I can fix the overheating problem pretty easily with a little help from y'all.

So, my plans are to completely strip the interior (except for drivers seat and other necessary items), and throw some straight pipes (no cat, no muffler) on it (maybe even a zoomie header? anyone have any thoughts on that?). Anyways, it's just going to be a project to see how fast I can make it go. Also, got a bunch of Lexan in my basement which I'll probably replace most of the glass with...

Hope it's an Si, hope it's not an automatic at the very least.

Anyways, I'll have pics tomorrow.

Yep LOL... I'm catchin' up Ami! LOL

Actually, I hope the CRX is an 89... Then I should get a 88 civic wagon, and I'd have 88, 89, 90, and 91.

Anyone have any thoughts on putting a zoomie header on the CRX? Think it'd be cool. Loud as hell, but might do some good for speed...

Yeah I've never heard of a zoomie header either, but if you have a link or something to it, we'd be appreciative.

Exits through the hood.

I'd have to have one custom welded.

At our demolition derby, one of my friends custom made some headers that came out through his hood, it was fricken loud man, but yeah, sounds tough. Sweet deal.

sounds cool man, and as for the zoomie, i dunno if that'd help or hurt your times... these honda engines do like their back pressure... and as for it overheating could be,

Head Gasket
Plugged Rad.
Bad fan
Bad thermostat
Bad thermo sensors

those are the likely options

wait wait wait wait...... someone just trips over a free CRX ? If I wasn't so dumbfounded I'd be mad. I had to search for mine for MONTHS before I found one. Even though it was at a pretty alright price of $1000....... FREE???!!!! Now I'm just sad. Whats your secret to finding them ?

well to be technical, its delta pressure that they need, but ppl tend to understand back pressure better...

and its all about being in the right place at the right time...
