Hi,
I was told that if you get someone to modify your cams or replace them you can get better performance out of your car, so. 1. Does anybody know about this. 2. Can this be done in a 99 model pulsar. 3. Is the extra performance worth the hassle(assuming that it is possible). Thanks... |

Surely, cam replacement with aftermarket ones is fairly common. If you go with moderate cams, you will not evan need to change anything else. With more aggressive cams you're looking at ECU, springs uppgrade and possibly adjustable cam sprockets.
I'm sorry, I have no idea what engine is in the '99 Pulsar (I had no idea they made it in '99 ), so at the moment I can't help you more. But it's definitely one of the best upgrades. Although to maximize the effect of aftermarket cams it would be necessary to upgrade the intake and the exhaust systems.Alex

If you put a twin cam in your pulsar it would help performance. I have an 89 and it is single cam but i know someone who has a twin cam and theirs is much faster than mine. As far as i know it just increases acceleration and speed. Thats all I know.

my 88 pulsar has a twin over head and they are alot faster. when u change the came shaft you have to decide when u want the power and were u want it at. some cams are for more torque then horse and the reverse it true too.
