build up...

So here's the deal... I have a 94 EX with the much disliked SOHC VTEC motor. But, I KIND OF LIKE IT! So here's what I am going to do... I am going to ignore all the advice about dropping my current engine like a hot potato and replacing it with a DOHC. That's right, I plan to build up the engine I have. Right now I am in the stage of planning the specifics of what to do. I have another car I can drive while this build up is in progress so I plan to take the engine out and do it right. This will be a N/A build up, except for a possible 50 shot or so of nitrous, nothing too major. I'll proy tear it apart and have it all checked out then replace the pistons, rods, and rings, port the head a little bit, put in a new cam and whatever other valvetrain would be needed to go along, possibly change to some bigger injectors, or at least have the stock ones blueprinted, and finally round it all out with a lighter flywheel and nice strong clutch.

Thoughts? Advice? Product suggestions?

I'd say go to one of the D series specific forum sites. I think there's a couple single cam enthusiasts on this site like Frostbyte and a couple guys in the 4th gen section....................

hey.....im all about that sing cam!

is this motor for street? strip? both?

if your going all motor fuel shouldent be a problem with the stock injectors, having them blueprinted wouldent hurt, even with the 50 shot the factory fuel system will handle just fine with a 50 shot *i prefer zex*

D Series Board

zex, skunk 2 has some stuff coming out for the D, basically just check out the D series board for tons of info and facts

awesome I hadn't noticed there was a D series board! and the engine will see mostly a lot of street driving with the occasional track pass or two so I need it to be fairly reliable...
